Gonzalo Sánchez Rivas bought the vineyard in 1992, and integrated it with La Torina’s Fundo Santa Carmen. The vineyard went into full production under the guidance of Ricardo Vial Cox.
In 2000, we decided to explore the possibly of dedicating a percentage of our harvest to the production of a unique and singular wine, knowing that we possessed premium grapes, given their origin and age.
So we built a winery with all necessary facilities, state-of-the-art equipment for the entire winemaking process, which is aged for two years before bottling. We have two cold rooms, a barrel room and vats of different sizes for the process. The winery was built by specialists in the design of such facilities and adapted to the company's objectives.
Thus the first production under the name of Viña La Torina came out in 2001, in honor of the family that originally owned these lands, descendants of Count of the Conquest, Don Mateo de Toro y Zambrano.
